I want to put the "C"ommunity back into the KPPSCD! As a Hilltop Elementary School parent candidate, I represent the future of Kensington. As a John Gioia appointed member of the Kensington Municipal Advisory Committee since 2010, I have worked closely with neighbors on their variance projects. I am 48 years old. I support a small police force so long as they don't have high turnover. I am the moderate candidate seeing value to both sides of the heated debate over the past 2 years which the incumbents have not been able to resolve. I am an Information Technology candidate with Corporate Governance expertise and believe this board needs this to bring our community services into this century. I am aware of the community issues facing us such as sharing the 911 call center with our neighboring cities, living in a wildfire zone, earthquake, traffic, parking, and crime. I take safety seriously! I worked with the county over 3 years to install one-way controls during school hours on Highland and Kenyon Avenue. I have also given input into the issue on Highland and Arlmont. I have researched escape routes for earthquakes with the Red Cross. I have served on the Kensington Property Owners Association where I prepared the About Kensington guide with an updated map of our community. I have served on the boards of Step One School and Orinda Horsemen's Association. I also built Tehiyah Day School's first web site. I believe my IT skills will enable me to continue to maintain our small community within the context of our changing information age especially as it relates to emergency message broadcasting and elderly support. I am a California native and have lived in Kensington for 12 years. I have 4 children ages 19, 17, 10 and 9. Our family also includes a dog, a cat, and other animals. I look forward to speaking to you personally. |
