Candidate for
Director; Contra Costa Water District; Division 5

I was appointed to the Contra Costa Water District Board of Directors on February 5, 2003, representing parts of Antioch, Oakley, Brentwood, and the Los Vaqueros Reservoir watershed.

I am a planning consultant with extensive experience in city and regional planning and community development throughout the region. I served as Contra Costa County's Chief of Land Development and Zoning Administrator; Deputy Director, Community Development Department; and Advance Planner in the County Planning Department. In addition, I served as the Community Development Director for the City of Rio Vista and Supervising Planner for the City of Antioch.

As a graduate of Antioch High School, I am a long-time resident of eastern Contra Costa County. After a stint in the Army, I graduated with honors from Diablo Valley College in 1966, and Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Hayward in 1968. I went on to study for a Master's degree in Geography from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

I am a past director of the Contra Costa Child Care Council, the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board, Mt. Diablo Council, and Rio Vista Care. I am a current member of the American Institure of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association.
