Education and Qualifications:

I am an appointed incumbent running for the San Pablo City Council.

I bring 16 years of experience in the real estate and housing development field and 15 years of demonstrated abilities in the nonprofit industry. My knowledge of the issues that matter most to our residents and business community enables me to support solutions with my colleagues on the council that are the most effective in helping lead San Pablo City to a more prosperous future.

I am a homeowner and resident since 2003. I am married with two young children and have lived in the Richmond and San Pablo areas since 1978, attending public schools and graduating from UC Berkeley.

I lead Lao Family Community Development Corporation as executive director. My work at this award winning agency in San Pablo serves job seekers, homeowners facing foreclosure, seniors seeking health care, crime victims seeking restitution, and families seeking financial well- being and a better life.

I serve as a director or member of these organizations: San Pablo Economic Development Corporation, Reach Out San Pablo, Richmond and Oakland Youth Councils, and JPMorgan Chase Community Advisory Board.

I am proud that I was instrumental in redeveloping a 7 acre site on Giant Highway and Lake Street transforming a former truck yard into a new housing community creating jobs and increasing the tax base for our city.
