Smart Voter Official Statement for Dan Romero

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Hercules

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Dan Romero

My age is: 57

My occupation is: Insurance Agency Principal

Education and Qualifications:

The residents of Hercules elected me in June, 2011 to help bring stability to the City of Hercules. Since being appointed Mayor, I have brought to council an open voice of reason and ethics, published the issued checks on the website, future agenda items are now discussed in open session and aligned agenda formatting to current established rules and procedures.

I was part of the hiring of a new city attorney and city manager. I fulfilled what I promised to the community by completing the ITC/Bayfront deal for the residents of Hercules.

Hercules still faces deficit budget problems and there are outstanding debts that need to be paid. I want to be part of the reconstruction of Hercules. I want to be part of the team that puts Hercules back on a road to fiscal stability.

I am currently serving on our Wastewater Commission that will be reconstructing the sewage plant in Pinole/Hercules. I also serve on the regional Solid Waste commission that is currently looking into a long term contract for our garbage services and the East Bay Economic Development Alliance.

I ask that you consider voting for me on Election Day. I will continue to do what is best for Hercules, to be the moral compass of the community and to be the leader that stands for values and community responsibility.

Your vote will allow me to continue representing the City that I so love and respect. Vote for Mayor Dan Romero, Hercules City Council.
