Education and Qualifications:

In November 2008 the citizens of Rodeo, Crockett, Port Costa, and Hercules elected me to serve on the John Swett Unified School District Board; I thank you for your support.

During my first four years I have worked very hard to bring volunteers, money, technology, arts, safety, and the team spirit needed to motivate others in making JSUSD the absolute best school district in Contra Costa County (CCC).

The current board elected me to serve on the CCC School Boards Association (CCCSBA), where I have been elected as the Legislative Chair. My experience on the CCCSBA has provided me with the knowledge to understand and make knowledgeable decisions concerning current and future issues in education within the JSUSD and the educational system in the state.

I am a fourth generation resident of Western CCC. I attended the JSUSD from 1st through 12th grades and graduated from John Swett High School (JSHS) in 1987 and currently have a niece and cousins attending JSHS.

Leadership history: JSUSD - Governing Board President; CCCSBA - Legislative Chair; Hercules - Olympian Hills HOA - Board Member (BM); WestCAT - West CC Transit Authority - BM; WCCTAC - West CC Transportation Advisory Committee - BM; CCTA - CC Transportation Authority - BM; JSUSD Facilities Assessment Committee - Committee Member; Richmond Ramblers Motorcycle Club - Treasurer; Government Activities Association - President; American Federation of Government Employees, Local 1122- 4th VP.

I am willing to support our community and continue to strive to make the JSUSD the #1 district in CCC and or the state and am willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen; up to and including a Parcel Tax and or a Bond for new facilities!
