Board Member; Mount Diablo Unified School District

High achievement for students, along with social and emotional support; respectful, trusting and collaborative relationships with teachers and staff; open communication and positive relationships with parents and community; honest and thoughtful decision-making with integrity; and being fiscally conservative is my vision for the Mount Diablo Unified School District and its governing board.

I believe my vision speaks for itself. Students are our first priority. When all decisions are made with the outcome benefitting our students' education, and their social and emotional well-being, we will always be heading in the right direction. In this endeavor, our teachers must feel trusted and respected knowing that they are supported by the district and board, and can seek assistance and guidance, as needed. I believe in working with staff using positive team dynamics as our guideposts. Parents are the first and foremost teachers of their children. As such, open communication and positive relationships with parents can only enhance our students' education as we fully embrace parents as partners in education. I believe in being honest and thoughtful when making decisions, using integrity even when difficult choices have to be made. Lastly, an open, constructive and forthright relationship between the board, administration and staff must exist for the ultimate benefit of our students.
