PRIORITIES

Responsible Growth for Our Downtown

Lafayette must maintain our friendly small town feel through the use of pedestrian scale architecture, public amenities, landscaping and the protection of our uniquely beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Responsible development can create a synergy with its neighboring properties but must not place unreasonable impacts on our already constrained parking and traffic infrastructure.

Lafayette General Plan and Ridgelines Ordinances

Years of hard work by the public have produced a sound General Plan and Ridgeline Ordinance. My voting record as a Planning Commissioner shows my dedication to consistently enforcing these standards to retain our small town character, and to protect our semi-rural neighborhoods.

Fiscal Responsibility

Carefully scrutinize our City's limited budget and expenditures to ensure that our residents receive good value for their tax dollars. Consider future maintenance costs as we prioritize public spending.

Services for Seniors and Youth

Programs for seniors and youth engage our community, helping to make Lafayette a great place to live. The City has played an important role in the new senior housing that is being built. Grant money should be pursued to improve safe routes to schools. Self funding programs at the Community Center teach new skills and provide a feeling of community. We need to continue to support cost effective ways to provide and improve these and other important services.

Being Responsive to the People of Lafayette

Our residents are well-informed, passionate and knowledgeable about City issues. I will continue to listen carefully to concerns and my vote will reflect the input received from our Lafayette public.
