This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Greg A. Marvel

My age is:

My occupation is: Educational Consultant and Former School Administrator and College Vice-Chancellor

Education and Qualifications:

I first got elected to the Board in 2000. I saw a need. We were a good district but not a great one. I wanted to change that. We had financial problems with regular midyear cuts. Facility construction was under Grand Jury investigation. Our students tested lower on standardized tests compared to many other districts.

We have made substantial progress. In spite of massive funding cuts from the state, we have maintained financial reserves and essential programs, and have lower elementary class sizes than many surrounding districts. Our facilities program is a state model with numerous completed remodeling and construction projects, including nine new schools built with developer monies instead of tax dollars. Test scores have increased dramatically. San Ramon Valley Unified School District is now ranked as one of California's best districts, with some of the country's highest graduation and college attendance rates.

The journey to educational excellence is not over, with much still to accomplish. I bring over 30 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the Board as a former administrator, college vice- chancellor and management consultant. I ask for your support and vote as we continue our efforts on behalf of the District's children.
