PHILOSOPHY: MAKING A DIFFERENCE WITH RESPONSIBILITY

TOP THREE GOALS,

  • ADVANCING RECREATIONAL SERVICES TO BETTER SERVE OUR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
  • SEEING THE FRUITION OF THE MASTER PLAN OF AMBROSE PARK CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE, A CULMINATION OF COMMUNITY INPUT
  • IN MY CAPACITY AS A BUDGET COMMITTEE MEMBER I WILL FIGHT TO ASSURE THAT OUR FINANCES ARE INVESTED WISELY

I am honored to represent the Bay Point and Pittsburg communities as a Board Member of Ambrose Recreation and Park District. I was appointed by the board to succeed Glo Magleby who retired in 2011. As a longtime resident, I bring considerable insight into the history of the district and its future needs. I ask for your support to continue working on the numerous projects I have been advancing to better serve our children and families.

"I've always believed in and lived by, not only for myself, but in helping to enrich the quality of life of others". Which is part of the Ambrose Recreation & Park District Mission Statement . "In order to serve the diverse recreational needs of individuals and families and to enrich the quality of life for all residents, the Ambrose Recreation & Park District is committed to providing park facilities, programs and activities for all ages" And I plan on keeping this alive.

Sense I have been a member of the Ambrose Recreation and Park Board:

  • Recreational services at the community center have increased
  • More athletic, youth and senior programs are now available
  • Anuta Park has been refurbished with a new playground structure
  • The District secured enough funds to implement Phase 1 of the Ambrose Park Master Plan and complete the construction of the pool by Summer 2013
  • The District has seen more collaboration with business and civic agencies
  • The District develops and sponsors more FREE public events like the Breakfast with Santa, Tree Lighting Event, Community Yard Sale and Easter Egg Hunt
  • The Community Garden is now fenced
  • The District acquired management of 5 Bay Point community parks
  • In my capacity as a member of the Budget Committee, I am fighting to assure that our finances are invested wisely
