My name is: Rich Kinney

My age is: 56

My occupation is: Teacher, Coach, Grad Tutor; Substitute Teacher; Pastor

Education and Qualifications:

In preparation for City Council I've been attending San Pablo City Council and General Plan meetings for two years. I also serve the people of my City by volunteering on the Zoning Ordinance Committee, Committee on Aging, Helms Community Center Steering Committee, and Reach Out San Pablo (a group seeking to bring the City, Civic Groups, Businesses and Non-Profit Organizations together to make a better community).

I've served in various capacities over the passed 13 years: Chaplain for San Pablo and Richmond PD and the Sheriff's Department, Summer Camp Supervisor with San Pablo Recreation Department, Contra Costa College Men's Assistant Basketball Coach, Richmond High Assistant Boys Basketball and Tennis Coach, Grad Tutor and Adult Ed Teacher.

I'm currently a full-time substitute Teacher at Richmond High and Helms Middle School. For four years I've also been a teacher for the Contra Costa Economic Partnership Summer Camps bringing students and Professional Industry Leaders together preparing students for college and career.

I earned a Bachelors Degree from Cal State University in 1983, worked as an Insurance Adjustor after college, managed several businesses in the Bay Area and owned my own business for three years.

I've also shared the Pastorate of a San Pablo Church for thirteen years. My wife, of twenty-nine years, and I raised three children and four foster children. Our children completed their schooling in West County Schools, attended Contra Costa College and have Masters and Bachelors degrees from College of Holy Names, San Francisco State and UC Berkeley.
