Candidate statement

My wife and I moved to the San Ramon Valley in 1980. We have truly enjoyed raising our children and living in this great community. As residents and local business owners, we have always appreciated the outstanding services provided by our SRVFPD. Unfortunately, our District is being challenged by current fiscal problems. I believe the Board can balance the SRVFPD budget without lowering their excellent standards. As a small business owner for 30+ years, I am very experienced in establishing and working within a budget. Our District needs leadership that is determined to meet their fiscal responsibilities.

In addition to business knowledge, I have extensive experience working in a Board setting. I am a past-president of the SRV Kiwanis Club, the Canyon Green Homeowners Association, and my state professional association. Beyond serving as President of these organizations, I have many years of service as a Board member. Committees serve an important role in any organization, SRVFPD included. I have served on numerous committees, often as chairperson. I am experienced in building consensus and achieving results in Board and committee settings. The issues facing our District will require Board members that are knowledgeable, and have the experience and skills to accomplish goals.

I look forward to the opportunity to continue the great tradition of the SRV Fire Protection District. I respectfully ask for your vote.
