My occupation is: Retired Police Officer

Education and Qualifications:

My name is Bill Kelly. I live with my wife in the home we bought here in Hercules.

I am known to be an independent minded person, who both makes up his own mind and who takes positions based on the issues of an individual situation. My independence is what I see as the most important attribute I will bring to the City Council. This independence results from 22 years in public service, most of which was spent in law enforcement. Documentation of my education and professional history is available to anyone upon request.

I want to see our City government's business being done in the open with minimal "Closed Sessions". Hercules also must become much more "business friendly" to encourage retail and business development if the City is to recover from the devastation we have suffered in recent years. Additionally, the City should promote more citizen involvement, building on the success of the Citizens Ad Hoc Committee on Financial Affairs.

Hercules is my home and where I intend to live out the rest of my live. I deeply care about what has happened to our City. I am committed to making Hercules the best it can be.
