Smart Voter Official Statement for Wade Harper

Candidate for
Mayor; City of Antioch

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Wade Harper My age is: 48 My occupation is: Police Lieutenant/Vice-Mayor Education and Qualifications:

Antioch crime is of emergency proportions. It is negatively impacting our community. Our citizens are worried about being robbed or assaulted. We fear our children will succumb to the influences of gangs and drug dealers. Our schools are challenged, our home values are declining, and we live by dilapidated properties that attract drug use and squatters. Something must be done now - Antioch needs a "zero tolerance" approach to drive crime out of our city. As your Mayor, I will: Hire More Police - We cannot say we are going to have a zero tolerance if we don't have enough police officers. I will work hard to find the money to hire more police. Decrease Truancy - Antioch needs a stronger truancy ordinance to keep kids in school and out of trouble. Let's find the kids and bring them back to school. I will work with District Attorney Mark Peterson to begin prosecuting the parents of habitual truants. Cleaning Up Blight - We need to stop talking about blight and clean up dilapidated properties - even if it means confiscating property and levying high fines on landlords. Volunteer Safety Patrol - Until we can get a better handle on crime, I am organizing a "Volunteer Safety Patrol" at targeted grocery stores to safely walk residents to their cars at night. For more information call (925) 5291289 or visit http://www.WadeHarperforMayor.com for locations. We have nothing short of an emergency on our hands. I would be honored to earn your support so we can take action together.
