This information is provided by the candidate |
Summary of reasons why I am running for a 2nd term.In today's challenging economic climate, we must work smarter and make better use of limited resources. My diverse background has provided me the skills needed to navigate the current local and state economic crises, hire successful district leaders and create an environment of open communications and collaborative relationships. My business and community service experience and lifetime knowledge of Antioch has served me well during my tenure as an AUSD Board Member. As your elected representative, I have been a voice for financial accountability, increased investment in the classroom and school site safety. We need to teach our students the way they want to learn I am a supporter of Linked Learning (also known as Academies); a high school improvement approach that makes learning exciting and challenging. It connects strong academics with real+world experience in a wide range of fields, such as engineering, arts and media, and biomedical and health sciences--helping students gain an advantage in high school, college, and career. I have advocated for strong public schools at all levels of government. I am a school board member who has a relationship with the public I serve. I would like to continue to serve as your elected representative and would appreciate your vote. |
