Smart Voter Official Statement for Tim Flaherty

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Pleasant Hill

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Tim Flaherty

My age is: 55

My occupation is: Attorney at law

Education and Qualifications:

The desirable quality of life in Pleasant Hill is no accident. It takes hard work. Work I have been a part of, and as your city councilmember, I will continue.

Serving as a Pleasant Hill Planning Commissioner, I strive to build consensus and make sensible decisions that foster economic growth and improve our city--and at the same time ensure all are held accountable for promises made to our community.

While leading the Civic Action Commission the past 10 years I helped organize events that have promoted Pleasant Hill as a great place to live, work and conduct business. These community-building events include the Annual Community Service Day, the Summer Concerts by the Lake Series and the recent 50th Anniversary Celebration.

My service and leadership was recognized with the 2011 Pleasant Hill Citizen of the Year Award.

As your new councilmember, I will apply these leadership experiences to preserving our neighborhoods, keeping us safe in our homes, schools and on our streets; all while expanding and diversifying our economic base. I am dedicated to sound fiscal policy and will keep a watchful eye on our City's finances.

I ask for your vote.
