This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Gene Clare

My age is: 59

My occupation is: Assistant Superintendent

Education and Qualifications:

Like you, I love Brentwood! My wife Gretchen and I have been blessed with the opportunity to raise our family here. In 1990, it was my privilege to come to Brentwood to serve as Principal of Liberty High School. Currently, I serve our community as Assistant Superintendent.

Integrity and genuine goodwill are forces that drive me. I have been involved in numerous volunteer and leadership roles in our community including serving as a board member on the Brentwood Police Activities League, Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority, A Place of Learning, East Contra Costa Business Education Alliance, and Past President of Brentwood Rotary. In 2009 I was honored to be selected as Brentwood's Citizen of the Year.

I have the deepest respect for our community's history and would like to work for you on its future. Like you, I am concerned about maintaining our city's fiscal stability, the need to attract high paying jobs, public safety, and continuing to provide a quality education for our children. We need a new perspective on our City Council that will listen to your voice. I have provided over twenty-two years of service and "trusted leadership" to our community.
