This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Diane Burgis

My age is: 47

My occupation is: Executive Director of Local Nonprofit

Education and Qualifications:

I am executive director of a nonprofit dedicated to preserving water quality. Our organization is thriving due to solid budget planning when many are just getting by. This year I was named Woman of the Year by Assemblymember Joan Buchanan.

Eight years ago I relocated my three sons to Oakley because it is a safe place to raise a family. We've all witnessed Antioch's challenges. I am running for City Council to ensure Oakley remains a safe, family- centered community.

If elected, I will focus on:

Neighborhood Safety - To keep crime low, I will work with police to identify funds for more police officers and to improve 911 response times.

Quality Schools - My sons attend Delta Vista, Freedom and Los Medanos College. If elected, I will bring our best minds together to brainstorm ways to increase academic excellence.

Jobs/Economy - Oakley needs a solid plan to attract the right kind of businesses to our community.

The Delta - I believe Oakley could be a possible "Delta destination." I will fight for water quality and will oppose sending Delta water to Southern California.

Please call me anytime at (925) 308-6348 or visit http://www.DianeBurgis.com. I would be honored to earn your support.
