My basic philosophy is:

Government intrusions in our personal lives should be maintained at a minimium.

Government spending should not exceed known revenues.

Growth should be required to pay its own way and managed to ensure future longterm financial sustainability at buildout.

Reserves should be maintained for emergencies and at levels that ensure maintenance and replacement of buildings and equipment without borrowing.

Pensions should be fully funded now and not passed on to future generations.
