This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Jan Bridges

My age is:

My occupation is: Obstetric and Gynecology Nurse Practitioner

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, Nursing, California State University Los Angeles; Past El Cerrito Councilmember2004-2008

My husband and I have been homeowners in El Cerrito for over 30 years and raised our two children here.

I am seeking a new term on the council because I think my previous council experience and career accomplishments will be valuable in solving today's problems. My professional life has been very goal oriented and this strength has served me well on the Council.

While I was on the Council, many goals were achieved. The police department staffing was brought to full strength, a modest City Hall was built, Baxter Creek was restored and San Pablo Avenue was rehabilitated and landscaped. A City Council Code of Ethics was passed. Approval of a land swap with Stege laid the ground work for the new recycling center. Moreover, a funding plan was put in place to keep our streets well maintained.

The economic times are now very different. The City must maintain the services that all of our residents expect and deserve. I believe I have the experience and knowledge to guide us through this process.

I can provide the leadership needed in the next four years to build a stronger El Cerrito. Together we can pursue the issues we care about and create a better community. Vote for Jan Bridges 2012
