DON REMLEY

Occupation: Education Consultant

As a career educator, I have a lifelong love of education at all levels. I desire that Butte-Glenn Community College District continue to excel in offering academic courses which prepare students for higher education, as well as maintain quality career programs such as nursing, firefighting and law enforcement academies.

I desire that the College have a greater footprint in the community. I will work as a strong advocate of our communities on the Board. After serving as superintendent of Oroville City Elementary School District for 22 years, I have excellent connections with school districts in Butte County. As past-president of Oroville Chamber of Commerce, Oroville Economic Development Corporation and Oroville Rotary Club, I am well-connected with the business community. I am a member of Oroville Evangelical Free Church.

I hold a doctorate degree from the University of Southern California and two master's degrees from Whittier College. I have served as a trustee of Whittier College, Whittier Law School and Oroville City Elementary School District. I have also taught graduate classes at Chico State and the University of La Verne, and hold community college instructor credentials. It would be my honor and privilege to serve you as Trustee, Area 1.
