Chico Unified School Board

As a mother and grandmother, long time public school employee and former elementary school board member, I will bring many years of experience and perspective to this position.

I am recently retired as a school business manager and have over ten years of experience with California school budgets and finance. I will ensure that our District budgets are balanced in these difficult financial times and that resources are devoted to the academic programs with a proven track record of success.

It is well documented that not all children learn in the same way, which is one reason why I believe in the importance of educating the whole child by incorporating music, sports and the arts into our educational programs. We also must ensure that our children are adequately trained for jobs of the future in science, technology and engineering so that they can compete in a global economy. I will work with district staff to keep and improve these programs in our schools while maintaining high academic achievement.

I feel it is our duty to provide the very best education for all the children in our community, regardless of which school they attend. Students are my agenda. http://www.lindahovey.net
