Summary of accomplishments during tenure as the Mayor of AlbanyAll actions of the city council involve a majority of members, and many projects evolve through the terms of several mayors. Many important decisions also involve city committees and commissions before they come to fruition. Some of the projects during Peggy Thomsen's tenure as mayor and council member include: Lower Solano Avenue beautification Acquisition of land for open space on Albany Hill Economic development on Eastshore Avenue Initiation of closer AUSD/city relationship for projects Appointment of current city manager Appointment of first appointed police chief Partnership with city of Berkeley and UC, Berkeley, to restore Codornices Creek Partnership with other local, state, and federal representatives to bring sports fields to waterfront Socially responsible relocation of people on the Bulb Zoning Code Update Initiation of plans for city offices retrofit Development of plans for street maintenance Development of Climate Action Plan Development of Transportation Plan |
