Please also see: http://www.nickpilch4albany.com/issues COMMUNITY FIRST First and foremost - my primary purpose on the City Council would be to restore Albany as a place where issues are resolved through free and fair debate rather than 'us versus them' acrimony. This is hard work and can require tough choices, but is clearly the path forward or we risk the loss of the small town community we all love. OUR UNIQUE SITUATION Albany is the small town in the big city. Therefore, we have the unique balance of the great ideas and energy of the metropolis alongside the warmth of a local community. As a result, we all have ideas to contribute toward our civic destiny, and we each have the very real opportunity to do so. Together, we have already created the greenest city in California in terms of the way we vote, the products we buy, and the buildings we approve* In sum, Albany is perhaps the best opportunity in California, and even the United States, to create a sustainable city on all fronts: environmental, economic, and social. I believe in working together toward this sustainability, we can enhance the warmth and respect in our community. For specifics on how I will accomplish these goals, please see my Positions page.
