We are just now beginning to realize some direction for our downtown. I believe much more is needed to sustain this expansion and growth with the ultimate goal of having a vibrant and pedestrian-friendly destination where we can all shop Fremont first. The 850-acre planning area in south Fremont/Warm Springs is the most significant developmental decision that we'll face for decades to come. The choices that are made regarding quality and creativity of that development will either have a long-lasting positive lasting impact or be a missed opportunity. I'll bring the critical yet creative thinking that's needed to preserve Fremont's unique character while encouraging innovate land use for a world-class city.
