The essence of government is to provide systems and services by way of tax collection that, for whatever reason, should not or could not be performed by private sector entities. It is both the coordinator and facilitator of projects that serve the greater public and must be composed of true representatives of the district from which legislators are elected. Because state government neither generates or prints money it most spend that which is not their's in a most prudent and practical manner. In the absence of practical stewardship government can only become an undue burden on the people who have assented to it.

When Elected to Office I Will

1) Reduce Salary to $60,000

2) Take a synergistic approach to the district's commerce, consumption and resources

3) Facilitate Commerce

4) Defend Proposition 13

5) Defend the 2/3 majority vote as it safeguards against fickleness

6) Encourage the termination of LORIs (Lazy Or Recalcitrant Individuals) in public service

7) Identify redundant, obsolete or duplicative public services and close them

8) Give greater creedence to the legal analyst's office

9) Encourage homeownership and mortgage refinancing while prices and interest rates remain low

10) Encourage voluntary contributions to help mitigate the state's debt

11) Begin a dialogue for the renaissance of education along the thinking of the philosopher John Stuart Mill

12) Neither originate or sponsor any bill that constrains the individual or provides no public benefit

While the things to do are pressing issues, the most principal of issues for government pertain to the following:

Water and Water Districts

Transportation

Energy

Waste; as in that which we create and that which the government creates

Innovation of which without, the prior four cannot be attended to

Integration with respect to all activities/services that can be performed in concert with other related activities or in which collaboration with the private sector is most beneficial

Excision the process in which the malevolent, insidious and rapacious are identified and prohibited from infringing on the people's pursuit of happiness

Within each and every one of these principal issues are the myriad of competing interests that can either advance or retard solutions. Reason needs to prevail. As the economy slowly turns to a brighter horizon, we must collectively make sacrifices.
