Top Priorities if Elected |
- Protect Freedom- The ability for citizens to act, speak, and utilize personal resources freely to the extent that another's freedom is not infringed
- Stop Tax Increases- Taxes are necessary, but enough is enough- solutions must be found within current revenue
- Focus government on protecting and educating all, and caring for those in need; all other uses of revenue are secondary

- Taxes and State Revenue
-
Taxes are a necessary element of a functional government, and we all generally agree that some tasks are best provided equally to all citizens. However, tax increases should be the last possible solution. Spending needs should always be resolved first within current revenue.
- Education
-
To "fix" education, the solution is not to increase spending. With all interested parties acting responsibly toward a common good, we can see easy spending reductions without losing quality. The legislature need not assume full responsibility for everything. Some issues must be shared with everyone, and in doing so, we are likely to see the improvement we all want.
- Religion's role in Government
-
Religion has a place in personal life that should be protected as vigorously as any other freedom. However, religious views do not have a role in government, except to the extent such beliefs coincide with our understanding of freedom. Beliefs supported solely by religion are not appropriate to govern the public.
