This nation is in a quandry over long ignored troubles, as is this State stemming from the times of the Jarvis-Gann Initative and the Tax Revolt. Now we are faced with a crisis which may bankrupt the entire State. A vital plea for unity and a impassioned cry to unite in November follows - from a third generation native with deep roots in this nation's history - the candidate himself.AN ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF THE MOTHER LODE DISTRICT - May 2, 2012 My Friends and Neighbors In forest primeval, without hope of salvation at hand, and at the peak of despair over our economic plight, we stand firm in our faith the society and the Republic will persevere and survive....So help us God! But all are not included in the American Dream fashioned before us in these times of trouble and concern. Some are without homes or shelter, others without subsistence wage, others neglected and striving to find purpose or meaning in the America we have known and before us this day. The people of California have witnessed a grease charade while the major parties have fought bitterly to impose their personal beliefs on state policy and our daily progress. For over 10 years the People of this state have submitted to the will of a hard headed minority determine to force their will on the working class across this state, without a mandate or vision essential to those seeking the right and privilege of self government. These are once again, as Thomas Paine wrote over two hundred years ago : "...Times that try men's souls. When summer soldiers and sunshine patriots shrink from the service of their country." J.Q. Public, Mr. and Mrs. America, and the Smith's and Jones down the street are in a quandary where to turn, in whom to seek advice, and petition a long line of grievances pending before the business of the people. A little over two hundred years ago, our fore fathers brought forth a new nation conceived of liberty and bursting with the promise of freedom. Today that Dream may soon be extinguished for another alternative that ignores and forsakes the shared faith that had kept this nation strong for the last two centuries. This election in November may be the last time we are brought together as a People before the privileged 1% extinguish in their greed and lust for power, all possibility of a nation united both `...of the people, for the People and By the People + so help us God! Jesus himself just over two thousand years ago spoke against the hypocrisy, self centeredness, and the place in God's Heart for those who gave from themselves for the sake of others. This national fabric is carved out of the lives and heart of Pilgrims, and Pioneers embarked on a Great Enterprise + based on the belief in Christian values and worship as they were led their God Almighty. We no longer share that Dream + though only a hundred or more years ago that vision united our People to create a new nation from one end of the continent in the other. In shared values, experiences, fortune and expectations. That day is almost at an end. and as a candidate of yours to represent the Mother Lode District in Sacramento + after November + I am at a loss for what , short of a constitutional convention of all the People may awaken some of the stubborn minds and hardened hearts that refuse to share their bread with another. We "...hold these truths to be self evident" wrote Thomas Jefferson almost two hundred and fifty years ago. And this nation then fought to realize that demonstrated faith set on that terrible day of July 4, 1776. We cannot and must not turn our backs on our own History. These next few moments before us will decide the fate of our nation and perhaps the glove, every bit as much as our War for Independence did that day a shot was fired at Lexington. As a youth I worshipped the abiding faith in man announced across the nation in every song and ballad that saturated the `counter Culture' and spiritual commitment of a generation. And I will never change my mind!! John Fitzgerald Kennedy was not a lone figure in the Cold War Nuclear standoff that marshaled the best that has ever been, and rallied this nation to the cause of Peace and world prosperity. No peer or comrade whom I was proud to know in that time of extreme crisis will ever deny the mercy, the compassion, and the leadership that followed after John Kennedy's tragic fall. We were led by people like Martin Luther King, by Lyndon Johnson, and John's own brother Robert Francis Kennedy + who leaped to sieve the time, and carry the torch of liberty. They were joined by a new breed of leader. Stokley Carmichael, Huey Newton, Tom Hayden, David Harris, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan ... the list is very long. And when the first rank of our leaders fell, the breach + and I was there and did not shrink, nor did any of the rest, from doing my part. And when existing powers compromised every one of us, in that line, and the Bigots and Race haters that then ran this country ( as we are experiencing once again as you may recognize) that ran this country then isolated and bound and gagged every one of us who had stepped forward, our younger brothers and sisters stepped forward at People's Park, at the Mexico City Olympics, and at that incredible tragedy at Kent State, Ohio,...(and Jackson and throughout the nation,) to seal the breach of faith in this nation and its founding documents. And we must now join arms and stand together again.!! The God of our forefathers speaks to my heart of hearts that you may hear this. In this dark and terrible day, not the words of Political pundents, or whispers in the ranks of an eager but perplexed electorate have brought me to speak out + along with those on both sides, including Santorum, Gingrich, and Ron Paul, to name some among who are adversaries sometimes. But we agree between us, these may well be the last clear chance to free this state and this nation + as it has tried to liberate itself since the early days of the Abolitionists Movement before the time of Civil War. And we must not fail as we sometimes have before. We must not falter, we must "never surrender.(And Churchill and the Allies had it right from the beginning + to let the light of freedom and the lamp of liberty be dimmed or darkened as an expedient or temporary measure invites a clear and present danger to the people - not here in California or across this vast nation basking in their confusion over our lost wealth and advantage + but the People of the Globe, who only live for the hope and charity but rumored as a promise of our way of life. Do not forget: we led humanity into a new Day for Man immediately after the Cold War, ushering in a New Dawn brightened by a knowledge /Information Revolution rooted in our own high tech society that held forth the promise of a Day of World prosperity and abundance + unheard of since the Walled Cities of the Middle East ages ago. Permitting every human on the Planet to realize their personal agenda and family goals for the remainder of their lives and their children's children. But it is my warning, we are amiss to think this did not happen in a vacuum absent the vice and greed that motivated this nation to rise u- and "make the world safe for Capitalism? ...not Democracy and Freedom, as we you were told, but for the power, prosperity and a Capitalism embraced by the wealth of the privileged and powerful. It is time you knew. And as your representative, I assure you with my solemn pledge; I promise you I know I can and must not lose this fight to restore our national purpose and its shared faith in one another. Both across this Great state and our vast Republic. Tim K. Fitzgerald |
