Changing the Culture of Partisan Politics in SacramentoBy Fredy R. De LeonCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 61 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My fellow citizens, we must change the partisan gridlock of Sacramento by fostering strong independent candidates. This is why I have humbly decided to ask for your vote as an INDEPENDENT candidate with no party loyalty or affiliations. I will answer only to you, the voter. That is the way it should be my fellow citizens. I have not taken money from ideologues or special interests. I promise to use commone sense and to listen to my constituents, and as I have knocked on countless doors of our community I have heard these three concerns: First, our community wants to go back to work. I promise to make job creation my number one priority. I see the pain of foreclosure and job loss in our district and I ache to see this. I will make sure we retain what jobs we already have and to foster job creation as we slowly recover from this great recession. I promise to not waste time the way so many do in Sacramento with ego politics and issues which our community does not care about. Second, our community wants us to fully fund education. I promise to be an education advocate. California must never decrease the school year in this competitive global economy. We must fund education so that we don't rank 48 in per pupil spending. Third, our community has made it clear to me that they are tired of partisan fights in Sacramento. This is why I am an INDEPENDENT running for Assembly. I will not take orders form party bosses the way others would. I promise to be civil and honorable, to comport myself with the dignity and self respect I myself expect of elected officials. My fellow citizens I seek to be the change we desire in this beloved state of ours. If elected I can guarantee one thing, in the immortal words of Winston Churchill, I offer you "my blood sweat and tears" in the persuit of an effective and respectful government. Thank you for your time. God bless California and our Republic! |
