Questions & Answers

1. In this time of high unemployment, what are the most important steps that should be taken to improve our nation’s economy?

1) Bring back the jobs that have been exported out of this country; 2) stop waging war on government workers which war has depressed the recovery severely;

2. How should the federal budget deficit be addressed, now and into the future? How should budget priorities for defense and domestic programs be adjusted?

My federal budget balances now, see http://www.mjbarkl.com/usbudget.pdf - It balances social security and medicare and protects them forever, it cuts war (not defense) sharply, it eliminates most of the favoritism shown oil companies including in federal leases.

3. What are your priorities with respect to our nation’s energy policy? Should there be an emphasis on clean energy and reducing carbon emissions, and/or on reducing our dependence on foreign sources?

My budget at mjbarkl.com/usbudget.pdf makes that emphasis and those reductions.

4. What, if any, changes should be made to federal health care policies or programs?

Move to single-payer, adopt the Taiwan system. My budget does that.

5. What, if any, changes should be made to federal rules on campaign financing?

Adopt the Constitutional Amendment on my web site: "1. Congress may regulate political campaign funding as it chooses. "2. Corporations are not persons; Money is not speech."
