? 4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?

Answer from Ameenah Fuller:

As State Senator, I will introduce and support legislation that increases support for special education needs and ensure that all federal funding is allocated to these programs to assist local education agencies. As State Senator, I will introduce and support legislation to reduce the number of inefficient programs and streamline our educational system to ensure a brighter future for our youth. As State Senator, I will introduce and support legislation to expand distant learning opportunities in post-secondary education courses to reduce educational costs and eliminate overcrowded classrooms. I believe the lack of quality education is a national security issue which is not beneficial to our children in California. I am committed to supporting cost effective quality education to help our children reach their heights of success in this global economy. I am committed to keeping our children safe which is a challenge in today's schools but this issue must be a top priority. I will support legislation that protects our children's safety in our school systems. I am committed to reducing the number of teen drop-out rates, teen pregnancies, and low academic scores. These are the challenges we face and I will introduce legislation that enhance teacher training programs and address these problems by developing cost effective measurable solutions that work.
As State Senator, I will provide real solutions for the economic and housing crisis in California affecting voters in district 25 and statewide. The housing crisis is a multi-level crisis in California and nationwide, which requires a multi-level strategy to correct.
As State Senator, I will introduce and or support legislation that improves California's Infrastructure that increase job growth and repair highways and bridges in California. We waste money with constant minor patch repairs instead of a solution to fix and repair.
As State Senator, I will introduce legislation to help small businesses with incentives for green technology building conversions. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation to increase healthcare job retraining in vocational rehabilitation programs to assist with displaced workers. As State Senator, I will support better rail transportation to promote tourism in California.
As State Senator, I will introduce healthcare Initiative to reduce costs by expanding our outpatient services and preventative medicine programs. Cost of healthcare increases when preventative health programs are not available to all Californians.
As State Senator, I will introduce legislation that supports a preventative healthcare initiative and wellness programs, which reduce the overall cost of healthcare. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation that supports preventative healthcare and wellness programs for veterans. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation that offers homebuilders tax credit for building affordable green homes and businesses. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation that promotes diversity in energy policies. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation to address abuse of power of attorney to protect senior rights. As State Senator, I will introduce legislation to protect seniors from predatory behavior from the abuse of power of attorney. I will introduce legislation to streamline the voter registrar systems for management of multiple districts. I recently, introduced a system to the voter registrar's management in Los Angeles to reduce confusion of candidate status. The new system will reduce cost of staff hours.
