California, once a shining American star, has been "run to ground" by Democrats. It is not a subject for debate. The facts are that California's public schools rank among the worst in the nation. They were once the best. Taxpayers and businesses are leaving the state taking their jobs and revenue with them. They all cite unconscionable tax rates and overwhelming state regulation as the reason for their flight. Our elections, prisons, hospitals, and schools are overrun by illegal aliens who are welcomed to California by magnet programs like free tuition and sanctuary cities sponsored by liberals. We run up annual deficits, have a state debt to contend with, and must address the untoward influence that trade unions have on our elected officials, the quality of our education, and the cost of doing business. So who is responsible for this mess? Well, the majority party in the State Assembly and State Senate has been the Democrat Party for decades. Common sense and reason would dictate that the buck stops there. We recently recalled Democrat Governor Davis for reckless spending. Why stop there? The solution is not complicated. We need to elect fiscal and social conservatives to state government that believe in lower taxes, less government regulation and the Constitution of the United States. |
