Occupation: Councilwoman/Former Mayor
Education and Qualifications:

I have the experience, passion, and commitment to represent you in county government. I fight for job creation, education, and sustainability, and I'm an advocate for fiscal responsibility, women's rights, healthcare, and children and families.

I am a two-term mayor of Cupertino and proud 30-year resident of Santa Clara County. In addition to City Council, I've served as president of Santa Clara County Cities Association, chair of Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation, and vice chair of Santa Clara County's VTA advisory board.

As mayor, I turned a substantial budget deficit into a $4 million surplus and kept unemployment and business vacancy rates well below state average. I helped schools cope with budget cuts by dedicating resources for afterschool programs, crossing guards, and sports facilities. I also led the effort to open a city library, now the most utilized in Santa Clara County.

I hold an MBA degree and BS in statistics and previously worked 20 years in Silicon Valley high-tech as an engineer at HP, Sun, and Visa. Raised in a military family, I avidly support our troops and am a member of U.S. Army's Northern California Advisory Board. I'm married and a proud mother of two sons.

Together, we can build a better government! Learn more at http://www.kriswang.com.
