Brandon Sulser, a native of Sunnyvale, is currently in his second term on the Sunnyvale Planning Commission. He served as Chair for the term from 2007 - 2008. In 2010, he served as an alternate to Sunnyvale's General Plan Consolidation Task Force. Brandon went to college at George Washington University in Washington, DC where he studied International Relations. When not in class he had internships for Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, a liberal gun control advocacy group. After graduating Brandon moved back to Silicon Valley and began volunteering at the Community Law Center in East San Jose where he helped out in the worker's rights clinic and the immigration law clinic. Brandon has always identified with the Democratic Party and was active in College Democrats at George Washington University. After college he was Vice-Chair of the Peninsula Young Democrats. Brandon was also Vice-Chair of the Coalition of Bay Area Young Democrats. Brandon was elected to the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee in 2008. Prior to that he was an alternate to the the County Central Committee from 2001 through 2007. He has been a member of the state Democratic Central Committee since 2003. He was elected Secretary of the 22nd Assembly District Committee in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club, where he served on the Chapter Finances Task Force. Brandon was also Vice-Chair of the Sustainable Land Use Committee. He has also been active on the Loma Prieta Chapter's Political Committee and Sunnyvale's Cool Cities group. |
