1. What would you do to increase the number of voters registered in your party?
|
Answer from Marcene Van Dierendonck:
I do chair the Democratic Voter Registration Booth at California Avenue Farmers' Market during the summer.
Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:
For 8 years I have organized Democratic Party Voter
Registration Drives in North Santa Clara County. Under
my direction and personal actions thousands of new CA Democrats have been registered. Oone does this at Fairs and Festivals, Farmers' Markets, College campuses, retail stores and civic affairs. You organize your volunteers and go out to register people.
Answer from Alyson L. Abramowitz:
I believe the number of registered members of the Democratic Party will continue to rise if we successfully explain the value of the Democratic Party, how it differs from the alternatives, and how its values lead to more effective solutions. I have encouraged the creation of material documenting the value of the Democratic Party. I have used new media to publicize democratic solutions to a wide audience. I have also encouraged the Democratic Party to diversify its traditional voter registration outreach to bookstores, theatres, and events. I have organized, led, and participated in many of these events. I will continue working in each of these areas to successfully bring n new voters.

2. What would you do to help the campaigns of candidates of your party?

Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:
Voter registration drives, precinct walking, and phoning voters are all proven methods of electing Democrats to office. This year I have also become increasingly active in fundraising for Democratic candidates.
Answer from Marcene Van Dierendonck:
I do precinct walking and phonebanking in my own district and in other districts.
Answer from Alyson L. Abramowitz:
I help local and national candidates by fundraising, precinct walking, and calling on their behalf. I have also hosted events to provide voters the opportunity to meet candidates in a more intimate setting.

3. Why did you become a member of this political party?
|
Answer from Marcene Van Dierendonck:
I bacame a Democrat to promote social justice, a fair America for all, environmental protection, food safety and economic security for our country.
Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:
The Democratic Party honors diversity, civil rights, economic and social justice for all, and a vibrant democracy characterized by citizen engagement and education.
That is why I am a Democrat.
Answer from Alyson L. Abramowitz:
The Democrat Party believes that Americans are greater together than we are on our own--that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, and when everyone plays by the same rules. I am proud to support a Party that believes in these values.
