The culture of corruption must end in San Bernardino County

By James R. Bagley

Candidate for Member, Board of Supervisors; County of San Bernardino; District 3

This information is provided by the candidate
Ethics and integrity matter in government. The disgraceful legacy of indicted officials must come to an end. How you vote in this election will make a difference.
Ethics and integrity matter in government. There must be a transformation in the culture from the highest leadership. If you keep electing and employing people with ties to corruption nothing will change.

1.) Transparency must be the ethos of the leadership from the supervisors to the top county administrators. The board engages in the public business. There are few exceptions when any business should be conducted in closed sessions. Supervisor's calendars and expenses should all be part of an open process serving the greater public good.

2.) Campaign finance reform and strict penalties for conflict of interest will help remove the shameful inappropriate influences of powerful financial interests buying favoritism.

3.) Barring individuals, organizations, and entities convicted of involvement with transgressions with the county from future partaking in employment, or association would help purge the return of deep-seated corrupting influence.
