California public schools are in a crisis over lack of State financial support.
According to "Quality Counts" report from Education Week, California ranks 47th overall in how much is spent per student, $8,667 when adjusted for regional cost differences. That is about $3,000 below the national averages of $11,665 per student. California public schools desperately need more revenue in order to educate students. Our schools are going through unbelievable changes; increased class size, fewer days in the school year, reductions and even eliminations of art and music programs, year after year layoff of teacher, guidance, administrative and support staff, reduction and elimination of transportation and other safety services, and quality academic programs disappearing. Voters must take notice of this crisis and support increasing taxes for public education.
