In 2010, the Governor appointed Victoria Cameron a Superior Court Judge, a goal she had held for many years. She is today serving the people of Riverside County in the Indio Courts presiding over criminal cases. Before her appointment, Victoria Cameron served the people of Riverside County as a Senior Deputy District Attorney. She specialized in prosecuting major crimes such as gang murders and child molestations.

Raised in Maryland, Victoria Cameron became fascinated at a young age with the American legal system watching "Perry Mason" on television. She knew early on that she wanted to be a trial attorney, and then a Judge. But her path to the Bench did not take the typical route traveled by most seeking to join the legal profession.

She married during her first year of college but postponed her education when her son was born a week before her twentieth birthday. Two years later, her daughter was born. The following year her husband unexpectedly died, leaving her a young widow with two small children to raise on her own.

Victoria supported her family through various means, first by running a licensed day care center from her home. After major back surgery, she could no longer continue the day care center so she worked two and three jobs at once, while continuing to improve her skills until she was finally able to work only one job that would support her and her children.

Some years later Victoria remarried. While raising her children, she continued her education, taking night classes every semester to earn her degree. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and her husband was seriously injured in a knife attack by a burglar that nearly killed him and left him permanently disabled. The couple moved to Coachella Valley on the advice of her husband's doctor who said her husband would recover better in a desert climate.

In spite of these challenges, Victoria Cameron never let go of her dream to become a trial attorney. After working for years toward her goal, she was admitted to California Western School of the Law in San Diego. Making up for lost time, she completed her three years of law school in only two years and made Law Review while doing this. Soon thereafter Cameron was hired as a prosecutor, first for the County of San Bernardino, then for Riverside County.

Victoria Cameron excelled as a prosecutor, receiving numerous awards and accolades. In 2007, she was named a Felony Prosecutor of the Year for her successful prosecution of sexual predator Kevin Carl Faulkner. Faulkner had beaten and molested young children in Blythe for nearly two decades. Cameron's prosecution led to Faulkner's conviction on 34 counts of child molestation. He is currently serving 316 years in prison.

During Victoria Cameron's time as a Judge she has distinguished herself by her evenhanded and fair application of the law. As a result judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, civil attorneys, law enforcement professionals, business people and community leaders support her campaign.
