Arguments For Measure E | Arguments Against Measure E |
The Brooktrails Fire Department can no longer function at our
current tax. We have been dependent on the Brooktrails
Community Services District's General Fund to support us. In our
current budget we have no reserve funds or capital improvement
funds to replace outdated or unsafe equipment. For homeowners,
this means our ISO fire insurance rating could be jeopardized,
threatening their ability to get or afford fire insurance. This new
fire tax adjustment will allow the Fire Department and its first
responders to be self-sufficient now and in the foreseeable future.
Your fire tax dollars will go directly to the Fire Department and CANNOT be used by other Community Services District funds or projects. The new tax rate adjustment will allow your first responders the ability to replace old, outdated and unsafe equipment and purchase much-needed medical supplies and additional training. This new tax adjustment will allow the Fire Department the ability to add 10 new volunteer firefighters.
