1. What experiences and personal qualities best equip you to serve as judge?
I've served for 9 years as a Judge presiding over 150 criminal trials (gang murders, etc.). I've been managing partner of a law firm. As Supervising Judge I've been responsible for 3 courthouses and 30 bench officers. I comprehend the state's budget crisis and how to best adapt to it.He servido durante 9 años como juez presidente a más de 150 juicios criminales (asesinatos de pandillas, etc.) He sido socio director de un bufete de abogados. Como Juez Supervisor he sido responsable de los juzgados 3 y 30 oficiales de mesa. Comprendo la crisis presupuestaria del estado y cómo adaptarse mejor a ella.
2. Do you believe that all citizens have adequate access to legal help and the legal system? If not, what can be done to provide wider and better access?
No. We need to improve court business processes, increase outreach, civic education, leverage technology and insure that our court system is adequately funded.No. Tenemos que mejorar los procesos judiciales de negocios, aumentar el alcance, la educación cívica, de aprovechar la tecnología y asegurar que nuestro sistema judicial está adecuadamente financiado.
