Was the Iceman character in the movie Top Gun really inspired by the calm and cool attitude exhibited by Air Force Major Kenneth Hughey during his 564 combat missions?Integrity + Courage + Experience Was the Iceman character in the movie Top Gun really inspired by the calm and cool attitude exhibited by Air Force Major Kenneth Hughey during his 564 combat missions? Probably not, but there's a big difference between that character and Ken Hughey. Ken Hughey's combat missions were real. So are his Silver Stars, Flying Crosses and Purple Hearts. When Anti-Aircraft Artillery (AAA) hit Major Hughey's F4 Phantom he calmly went down the check-list. Any classified documents that might fall into enemy hands? No. Any chance of nursing his crippled plane away from enemy territory? No. Sidearm locked and loaded? Yes. Time to eject. Tortured and held as a Prisoner of War for almost six years, Ken Hughey can tell you a thing or two about perseverance. Born and raised on a farm in Tennessee, he knows about the value of hard work and strong core values. With a degree in aeronautical engineering, a master's degree in English and a law degree, he knows the importance of education. With a decade and a half of prosecuting criminal cases, he knows a thing or two about keeping the streets of this County safe from the criminal scourge. When it comes to the qualities necessary to be a judge, character doesn't just count, it is the most important thing a judge can have. Ken Hughey has the character necessary to be a judge. Ken Hughey has the Integrity to be a judge. Ken Hughey has the Courage necessary to make the right call without fear of repercussions. Ken Hughey has the Experience to make the right decision. Ken Hughey is the best qualified candidate for service as a Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Office # 78. |
