Judge DeAngelis served as a law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas with the Hon. David S. Cercone and during his 16 years of practice with the firm of John R. DeAngelis and Associates, P.C. was an elected district justice for 12 years serving the 7th and 8th wards of the City of Pittsburgh. During his term as district justice, Judge DeAngelis was elected President of the Special Court Judges Association of Allegheny County and was appointed to the Ethics and Professionalism Committee of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania, serving as its chairman for two years before being elected to the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County in 2001. Judge DeAngelis previously served in the Criminal Division, and now serves in the Family Division, Juvenile Section.
