Judge Cashman was appointed to the bench in April of 1988 and was assigned to the Family Division. In 1991, he was elected to a full term and he was retained in 2001. From the date of his initial election he has been assigned to the Criminal Division.
Following his graduation from law school, Judge Cashman worked for the law firm of Cauley, Birsic & Conflenti where he specialized in plaintiff's personal injury litigation. In 1985, he and Girard Cipriani established the law firm of Cashman & Cipriani now known as Cipriani & Werner, doing insurance defense litigation.
