League question: What steps can your office take to ensure the wise, effective, and efficient use of government funds?

Response: 1. Review the Treasurer's budget, especially the number of personnel. It is estimated that a 25% savings can be accomplished within four years.

2. Utilize my experience from my jobs in industry to assist the County Executive in problem solving. Issues which should be reviewed immediately include the Port Authority and the Airport.

3. Work with the County Executive to determine whether various activities of the County could (or should) be privatized. An example where there are possibilities include the public parks.
