1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)
I came to the bench with 18 years' experience as a practicing attorney in State and Federal courts and 4 years' experience as an administrative law judge. I have served as a Municipal Court Judge for more than 16 years. During that time I have handled more than 60,000 cases.2. What programs do you support to maintain the independence of the judiciary? (100 word limit)
The independence of the judiciary is guaranteed by the Ohio Constitution. No programs are necessary other than adherence to the Constitution.3. What specific changes would you like to see in the administration of justice in Hamilton County? (100 word limit)
The lack of jail space makes a mockery of justice in Hamilton County. I am a firm believer in alternative sentencing: substance abuse treatment, restitution, home incarceration, community service, corrective training, etc. We have the programs available. But many defendants simply ignore the court's orders because there is no credible threat that they will be jailed unless they comply with what the court orders them to do.
