1. What are your qualifications for office?
My training as an Architect, my experiences gained by starting and owning my own business since 1979 and my experience as being Mayore since 1984 makes me extremely qualified to seek re-election to the office of Mayor. I have and will continue to apply the professional approach to analyzing challenges and planning for solutions to those challenges.2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City?
Our city's mission statement clearly delineates those services. Namely, we should strive to provide those services that result in creating neighborhoods that result in creating a home in which ALL citizens live, work and play in a safe, clean and harmonious and environmentally responsible atmosphere.Any service that aids in reaching those goals should be considered as essential.3. How would you balance the City Budget?
We already have. In fact, we have a positive fund balance. We have accomplished this by the adoption of a charter requiring the formation of the position of a professional, full time, non-political Finance Director. We will keep it balanced by following the guidlines of our long term finance and business plan that has alredy been developed.4. What actions will you take to support clean air?
As stated in our mission statement, I feel it important both in short and long term to be cognizant of our environment. We have just completed a new school campus that is one of the first entirely green school campusess in the State of Ohio. We urge the use of landscape within our City and will be looking into the use of electric municipal vehicles. Obviously, however, budget will be a factor.
