1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Village?
|
Answer from Frances R. "Fran" Romweber:
Listening to the citizens of North Bend and being an advocate for any fair and reasonable needs are basic if Council members are to be good stewards of those they serve. Being pro-active in securing a safer and more beautiful North Bend ought to translate into being vigilant watchdogs for the safety and well-being of our citizens and their respective properties. Increased property values in North Bend, Ohio should be a steadfast goal of Council members. I feel that potentially outdated infrastructures in the "village proper" need Council's continual attention. Being cognizant of this pending, sometimes urgent need, as well as the subsequent expense involved, has to be a constant as we look to improve North Bend.
Answer from David L. "Dave" Moorman:
1. Public Safety - Keep people and property safe, including: police, fire & EMT
2. Public Works - keep streets and public land cared for.
3. Administration - operate the Village effectively and efficiently.
|
2. How would you balance the Village Budget?
|
Answer from David L. "Dave" Moorman:
1. Focus on a balanced budget - live within Village means
2. Totally support renewal of the Village of North Bend Operating Levy which is vital to services such as: police & fire protection and communication, snow removal, lighting, insurance and street engineering among others, with NO NEW TAXES.
3. Conduct cost/benefit analysis for major expenditures.
4. Prioritize spending based on cost/benefit analysis.
Answer from Frances R. "Fran" Romweber:
Council members have a fiduciary responsibility to be prudent in all expenditures. I have always believed that "Living within one's means" is paramount to having a balanced budget. Experienced Council members understand the availabiltiy of financial resources such as Block, and SCIP Grants etc.to enable the Village to meet large civic expenses with expediency. Such knowledge often alleviates the anxiety of a potentially "unbalanced budget" as Council members address important expenditures in improving North Bend.
|
3. What actions will you take to support clean air?
|
Answer from Frances R. "Fran" Romweber:
When there is a concern regarding air pollution I will advocate taking all measures to become fully informed on the situation and bring it to resolution as quickly as possible. The health and safety of the citizens I serve as a member of their Council are crucial in my endeavors to help improve North Bend.
Answer from David L. "Dave" Moorman:
I will support "Go Green" initiatives that make a difference. I will support continuation of Village participation in environmental initiatives including the hazardous waste drop-off program and the INEOS - Public Advisory Group information sharing forum. I will monitor findings and recommendations of the EPA and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as they pertain to companies that operate within the Village of North Bend and neighboring communities.
