1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Village?
Answer from Sharon R. Chaney:
Police, fire and paramedic services, maintenance services including snow removal. Promoting economic development is essential to a healthy community.
2. How would you balance the Village Budget?
Answer from Sharon R. Chaney:
I was a former Finance Committee member for four years of which two years I served as Chairperson. The Council members and the department heads need to watch every penny spent to make sure it's spent wisely. Everyone is in difficult times with the recession, which makes watching the budget much more important. Our residents cannot afford to pay for additional levies. We must be very observent of where we spend money. We also need to maintain our current business properties and find new ones to fill the empty businesses, which will add revenue to our community.
3. What actions will you take to support clean air?
Answer from Sharon R. Chaney:
Golf Manor has recycled for many years. We need to maintain our vehicles as best we can to provide cleaner air. When repairs are needed to our buildings and equipment, we buy and use "green" products when possible.
