Candidate for
Board Member; Empire Union School District

I have had the honor to serve this community as a board member for the past 8 years and would like very much to continue as there is still much to be done. Prior to being elected to my present position on the board, I had the privilege of being in one of the most rewarding and fulfilling careers + that of a teacher. I taught elementary school in this district for 31 years. I was born and raised in Modesto/Empire area and have one adult son. I attended LaVerne University for two years then completed my education at CSUS with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and a teaching credential. Before becoming a teacher, I worked a total of 8 years as a legal secretary in Modesto and Beverly Hills and as a bookkeeper for 2 years at J.C. Penney Co. I was an advisor to a specific subdivision in the Tahoe Keys area of South Lake Tahoe and currently do some substituting as well as volunteering as gift store manager at Casa de Modesto Retirement Center.
