Smart Voter Political Philosophy for John Oehlert

Candidate for
Midcoast Community Council

This information is provided by the candidate

My political philosophy is very straight forward

  • Community involvement is fundamental to good government.

  • Increasing Community awareness of the MCC will make it more effective for advancing the concerns of Midcoast residents.

  • As an advisory board the MCC should actively solicit Community input and participation in all activities and decisions and work to advance the opinions and perspectives of the Community, not those of its members.

  • The MCC should work to improve relations with the Board of Supervisors so it can be more effective. The Board of Supervisors, not the MCC, is the governing authority for the Midcoast so it is critical to develop a solid working relationship with the Board members and staff.
