Background and why Terry is running for a seat on Brisbane's City Council

Since moving to Brisbane and purchasing our home with my husband, Rob, 20 years ago, we have built a close personal connection with Brisbane, San Bruno Mountain, and our neighbors here in town.

Over the years, I have been active within the community, working with several organizations. Volunteering with a variety of local non-profits has shown me that involvement on a personal level can make a huge difference in the livability of our town. This has strengthened my ties to Brisbane and I deeply share the goals and concerns of our citizens.

With pleasure and dedication, I have served on the Board of Directors of Brisbane Dance Workshop, Sierra Point Yacht Club and San Bruno Mountain Watch and Conservancy.

Attending many planning meetings, workshops and city council meetings, and speaking with neighbors and friends, has made me keenly aware that Brisbane has a broad variety of issues that are vital to our community, as well as serious challenges we face going forward as a city.

With my strong work ethic, I will strive to keep Brisbane a leader in open space, renewable energy, green building and smart development.

I support revitalizing Crocker Park and bringing sustainable, responsible businesses to Brisbane. I oppose housing on the Baylands and support alternative energy policies in the Baylands development. I support preserving San Bruno Mountain and saving San Francisco Bay for future generations. I whole-heartedly support accessible education for all children, as this is our future we invest in.

Brisbane, we must keep our principles and standards strong and our public spaces open to all. As a member of the Brisbane City Council, in representing you, I will bring to the table my personal goals of ecological sustainability, along with preservation of our community values.
